Raigmore Primary School’s Committees

The School Council are delighted to announce that Raigmore Primary School raised £189 for Children in Need.  A fantastic effort.  Thanks to everyone whi donated money!

Please bring in your shoe boxes by the 20th November.Last year we brought 83 boxes in to school and we’re going to try and  beat that this year.

So make someone  smile this Christmas.

Next week is walk to school week from the 9th-13th of November. So try to walk, cycle or use your scooter. Come to school in a way which will keep you fit and help the enviroment.

If you walk use the traffic lights. Be careful when you cross the road. Wear bright clothes in the dark. Don’t run across the road. Wear a helmet on your bike.

In SRTS our chair is Abby and our vice is Paige.  Safer Routes To School is going to get a new, updated noticeboard and we are going to be doing loads of competitions. almost each week Abby or Miss Macaulay will tell us what kind of competitions we will be doing or our tasks for the week.  Jennifer, our secretary, has always rememberd to come in and do the agenda and she has been doing a great job. Keep looking at the blog to see what we have been doing.

On Wednesday 17th June nearly 200 pupils took part in the Record Breaking Walking Bus to raise awareness of road safety and the health benefits of walking to school.

A big thank you to all who took part including our Junior Road Safety Officer, our SRtS vice-chair and to our witnesses Mr & Mrs Deans.

Please ask a SRtS rep for a certificate if you don’t already have one.

A huge thank you to all those people who brought stamps in for the horse charity.  Another large bag was filled with stamps and passed on!  Well done Raigmore!

This term in srts commitee we have not only made our callendars we have also made great safety warning posters and displays! here are some of the brilliant things we have done…. the JRSO have taken all their training and now know how to use the srts website and were able to show it briefly to the commitee. The whole commitee has made a beautiful display of spring flowers with a safety message in the middle of them which we will put up shortly for everyone to read. We have run loads of compatitions and we have had some great winners who put loads of effort into their drawing and colouring. We have recently been introducing some of the younger children into the commitee to help get them use to it for when they start to come next year or the year after. We have also been learning about how to be safe ourselfs! We asked for a one or two companys to sponser us to help us to get the money we need to make the callendars but we havnt had a reply yet but we still went through with making them.

We are still collecting and counting the money raised from our Safer Routes to School Calendar 2009.  I know time is moving on and we’re heading into April soon but if anyone still wants a calendar please don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of the committee members.
