Winter Safety Tips!!

December 8th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

This is a very dangerous time of the year when it comes to travelling to and from school.  It gets dark early and the roads and pavements are very slippy because of the snow and ice.  Look at some of our helpful tips below…

…PLEASE – STAY SAFE!!!

Remember:

  • It is harder for a driver to break in the ice and snow.
  • Snow can stop a driver from seeing properly.
  • Be safe: be seen – were reflective clothes or badges so you can be clearly seen!
  • Beware of  icy pavements and roads – walk and cross carefully!
  • Getting a new bike for Christmas?  Are you getting lights and a helmet as well?
  • Wrap up warm – it is cold out there!

For more helpful information you can go to the Highland Council Winter Watch page at the following link:  www.highland.gov.uk/yourcouncil/news/winterwatch

Giant Walking Bus Afoot

June 16th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

We all took part in the Giant Walking Bus today and it was so fun! We all went into the playground and took part in the walk which started at 10am. We are going to make a school donation to a charity called ‘Brake’ who support road crash victims and carers. We hope we encouraged loads of drivers to drive safely on the road because almost 8 people die every day on the roads in the UK. Remember to be safe on the road!

Anyone with a bike when they are in P7 will get a chance to join in. Those who pass their training successfully will receive a certificate for their hard work. Good luck P7s and cycle safely!
